The beginning of a whole brand spanking new year means a lot of things. Apart from the that whole ‘getting older’ business and everyone saying ‘I can’t believe it’s 2015’ all the time (get over it), it’s a good time to reflect and think about our aspirations and ambitions for the year ahead! Watching the whole of Ever After HIgh on Netflix is not an aspiration OR an ambition.

This year, Lilou will…

Make some new friends! I’ve always had my close friends and a whole bunch of acquaintances that I say hello to but never actually speak to… From now on I’m going to make a special effort to get to know a whole wide circle of people and be a lot more social! Though if they turn out to be horrible/boring/smelly I might regret that decision…

I’m also super keen to take some programming classes. I need (not want, NEED) to understand how websites and videogames work! Plus it’s something to talk about with all my hip ‘n’ happening new friends… ;)

Lea plans to…

I am going to be the captain of the basketball team. No ifs, no buts. I’ve been practising like crazy and I’m pretty sure I’m better than the current captain now, because she is very reluctant to pass the ball and that’s pretty essential in basketball. Just saying. This is more classic Lea b-ball style:

I’m going to make a special effort to be nicer to my family, too. I’m so bad for getting cranky and snapping at them, which really isn’t their fault. It also means everyone is too terrified to talk to me when I’m home which can be a lonely experience...

And Lee is determined to…

PARACHUTE. It’s parachutey jump-out-of-a-plane time. I am a teeny tiny bit scared of heights, but I’ve been watching a load of YouTube videos and it looks like an AMAZING experience. The view from 10, 000 feet is pretty awesome, who cares if I feel a TINY bit unsure and frightened and also terrified?

My other big challenge is to be the head make-up artist at our next theater production. I am particularly keen to paint the face of a certain attractive individual and try not to make him look like a clown that’s been caught in the rain.

What are your New Year’s Resolutions? Think you’ll be able to keep them up? We decided the trick is to make small changes over time, and gradually achieve them! Resolutions can be overwhelming, and more often than not we give up halfway through January and spend the rest of the year like this...

And before we forget - Happy New Year from Lilou, Lea and Lee!
