Have you ever played a game starring the Three Wise Men before? If not, here’s your chance! As you probably know, the Three Wise Men are an important part of the Nativity story and of Christmas traditions all around the world. Over two thousand years ago, Three Wise Men named Melchior, Balthazar and Gaspar followed the brightest star in the sky all the way from the Far East, travelling across the desert for five days to meet Mary, Joseph and the Baby Jesus in his manger in Bethlehem. When they arrived, the Three Wise Men knelt before the newborn King, offering him some very special gifts: gold, myrrh, and frankincense.
Nowadays, the journey of the Three Wise Men is celebrated in Spain, France and many other countries with a special dessert called the Kings’ Cake. This tasty cake can be decorated with almonds, chocolate or fruits, and has a small figurine hidden inside it. Whoever finds it in their slice is crowned King or Queen for the day!
